If you have not already used then I would begin here. It is a simple online 3D modeling program available for free. The basic concept being you form shapes and holes to cut shapes. You can stick shapes and holes together to make new shapes. Exports are available as STL (for 3D printing) and SVG (Usable for the Laser cutter)

Advantages

Easy start up

Exports for the 3D printer and the Laser

Works well with Fusion 360

Disadvantages

Limited size( there is a max size)

Limited detail

Dimensions can be tricky

Next to impossible to use on an IPad
